Gebruder Weiss, a leading international transport and logistics company, started stocking Moticon ReGo products in its U.S. logistics center near Chicago, Illinois, in August 2024. The products are customs cleared, minimizing the burden for local customers. Consequentially, the move allows Moticon have drop shipped its ReGo products to U.S. customers within just one to two days, backing the increasing demand for the new series from local customers.
Gebrüder Weiss is an international transport and logistics company with its head office in Lauterach, Austria. With its progenitor founded in 1474, it is one of the oldest continuously operating companies in the World. The company has around 8,000 employees working at 180 company-owned locations in 35 countries. When Moticon seeked logistics support for its rapidly growing market of clinical research customers in the U.S. back in 2021, the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest/GACC Midwest, based in Chicago, proved great support to make introductions to local legal advice and the new logistics partner.
Since then, Gebruder Weiss has taken care of Moticon’s research product line OpenGo, resulting in significantly improved lead times and lower freight fares. The company is capable of managing complex services on a high level of process quality. Example are bulk shipments to the target warehouse including customs affairs, handling serial number based shipments and IT integration of the warehouse management.
The range of logistics services for the ReGo product line now further expands to important tasks such as firmware updates for the sensor insoles and individual repackaging. After sending the first pallet of ReGo products from Moticon’s headquarter in Munich, Germany, the companies logistics manager, Alena Minchenia, went to Chicago in late July for a hands-on training session with the Gebruder Weiss team. The session was received extraordinary well as the team was able to respond to the specific tasks accordingly, and only two days later, the first customer was successfully served on U.S. territory.
The ability to drop ship its new ReGo product line to customers in the U.S. and Canada with only two days lead time represents a significant achievement in Moticon’s efforts to significantly grow its largest single market in the coming years
