Abstract

Introduction: This paper discusses the application of mobile sensor technology, specifically sensor insoles, for biomechanical assessment and monitoring in sports. It addresses the potential of this technology to enhance training, rehabilitation, and injury prevention in athletes.   Methods: The methodology involves the use of wireless sensor insoles to measure load distribution, movement parameters, and timing during various sports-related activities. Data from the insoles are processed to derive quantitative and qualitative parameters related to movement, force, and coordination. Case studies are presented to illustrate the application of this technology in gait analysis, rehabilitation monitoring, and performance assessment.   Results: The use of sensor insoles provides detailed insights into biomechanical parameters, enabling objective assessment of gait patterns, identification of functional deficits, and monitoring of rehabilitation progress. The technology also facilitates the evaluation of athletes' performance and the detection of potential injury risks.   Discussion: Wearable sensor technology, particularly sensor insoles, offers a practical and effective tool for biomechanical analysis in sports. It provides valuable data for optimizing training programs, guiding rehabilitation strategies, and implementing injury prevention measures.

Moticon's Summary

The study discusses a method for conducting and evaluating biomechanical measurements using mobile sensor insoles. These insoles measure load distribution, movement, and timing to assess parameters like range of motion, force symmetry, reactivity, and coordination. The system, which includes the sensor insoles and a smartphone app, aims to provide cost-effective and accessible biomechanical analysis for various users, from athletes to rehabilitation patients.
