Markus Mooser and Ulrich Seidel appointed to the advisory board
Munich, 14.02.2023 Moticon is expanding its board and bringing two experienced consultants into the company: Markus Mooser and Ulrich Seidel. With immediate effect, they will support Moticon with their expertise in the areas of finance, e-commerce and consumer-driven innovation. They will advise on strategic decisions and provide new, external impetus with their expertise.
The expert for corporate finance
With Markus Mooser, Moticon has brought an experienced finance specialist on board. The manager brings almost 30 years of experience in this sector. He was a department director at Bayern LB and IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG for over two decades. His expertise in the financial sector and his affinity for sports are relevant to the company’s upcoming expansion.
Expert for Consumer Driven Innovation and E-Commerce
Ulrich Seidel is an e-commerce specialist. As managing director of an e-commerce group, he is currently responsible for the pan-European ink & toner stores such as prindo.de, but also for the online player zoo24.de. Earlier stations were MyTheresa or McKinsey, but also own start-ups. “I know what real innovation is and Moticon has something big going on there with ReGo,” comments the newly appointed advisory board member Seidel. “This product could soon be standard in sports clubs and medical practices. Being part of this success story is something I find very exciting.”
From successful scientific niche product to standard in competitive sports
Moticon has reached a turning point. The Munich-based company is the market leader in its field with its “OpenGo” product line for use in clinical research and elite sports, which was launched back in 2012. The scientific relevance has been reflected in around 90 scientific publications to date. National and international industry giants such as the Nike Research Lab, Novartis, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the German Ski Association are among its customers, as are some of the world’s leading universities and clinics, including Charité Berlin and Stanford University, USA.
With its new development “ReGo”, Moticon solves a long-standing problem in the sports and therapy industry: Until now, established functional tests in sports and physiotherapy have been characterized by subjective evaluations and thus often have little meaning. With “ReGo” – a combination of a thin sensor sole and an app – it is now possible to collect objective, valid and reproducible data in a fully automated way and to make this data – evaluated by the app at the push of a button – directly usable for trainers and therapists. The combination of sensor sole and app significantly facilitates the work of trainers, sports physicians and physiotherapists and provides valid and objective measurement results.
