Gait testing on a treadmill is a versatile and valuable tool in medical, clinical, sports, and research applications, providing detailed insights into human movement that can inform diagnosis, treatment, and performance optimization.
One of the primary outcome parameters of the ReGo 15 Seconds Treadmill Walk Test is the gait line (Fig-1, left). The gait line displays how the foot rolls over the ground during stance phase. In addition, the gait line progression (Fig-1, middle) indicates how quickly the foot rolls over the ground: shorter point-to-point distances relates to quicker movements. The horizontal lines between left and right foot indicate equal center of pressure (COP) progression speed. In the current example, the movement of the left foot during the ground contact phase is faster than the right, especially in the forefoot.Â
In addition, ReGo also offers spatial parameters such as the stride length (Fig-1, top right) and the strike and lift-off angle of the foot (Fig-1, bottom right). The strike and lift-off angles indicate the orientation of the foot against the ground plane when hitting the ground and when taking off from the ground.Here, the right foot is placed flatter on the ground compared to the left and also leaves it at a slightly smaller angle, indicating uneven range of motion.
