Social Facilitation and Inhibition in Augmented Reality: Performing Motor and Cognitive Tasks in the Presence of a Virtual Agent

In this preliminary study the authors examined social facilitation and inhibition effects in augmented reality based on cognitive and motor tasks. Moticon sensor insoles were used to monitor weight distribution during motor tasks. The authors found tendencies towards both effects during their tests. Furthermore, this shows the applicability of sensor insoles in monitoring motor tasks.
